Rock legends Steely Dan lit up auditoriums, concert halls and amphitheaters of all sizes in the late 1970s, when original founders Donald Fagan and Walter Becker were utilizing an array of other talented musicians to help their sound become complete and highly-recognizable.
After a gigantic hiatus between 1981 and 1993, Fagan and Becker again took the reins and have performed an array of tours, as well as residencies in well-known locales in New York City.
They recently announced a sizable stay in Las Vegas that will run throughout the month of April. Here are three primary categories of information that Steely Dan fans would be wise to read before embarking on a quick and easy search for affordable tickets.
Becker and Fagan have heard their current collaboration of supporting acts called “the best touring band today,” by a reputable music source. They consist of a collection of guitarists and horn players, as well as a keyboardist, a drummer and a backup vocalist.
The group helps Steely Dan’s most memorable hits come alive, including but certainly not limited to Reelin’ In the Years, Hey Nineteen and Black Friday. On the pulsating and yo-yoing Rikki Don’t Lose That Number, the group is able to utilize their talents in the areas of both excess and restrain.
In order to gain a five-diamond luxury hotel distinction in the city of Las Vegas, a venue not only has to have extensive amenities and an abundance of beauty, but it also needs to provide its patrons with an area steeped in history that is well-connected to the vibrant epicenter of global entertainment and fun.
The Venetian has all of these. Initially opened in May 1999, it boasts of over 4,000 hotel rooms and an Italian theme that brings folks who have visited the great watery city of Venice right back to the popular European enclave. The iconic hotel tower currently contains 36 stories after its most recent remodel, allowing folks who make a visit to the top to peer out across the billions of dollars of glitz and glamour that have been pumped into the tantalizing desert locale over the last several decades.
Steely Dan will specifically be playing in the Opaline Theater, a place where chart-topping acts of music and live theater have worked their crafts to perfection in front of sold-out audiences.

Residencies by soloists or bands in Las Vegas last anywhere between a three-day weekend and several years. Celine Dion’s is perhaps the most famous and extensive in the modern era, involving the diva setting up shop at a venue and performing several hundred shows in Sin City since the turn-of-the-century.
Steely Dan will be performing exactly nine as of press time, beginning with a performance on the evening of Wednesday, April 12. Shows will run Friday, Saturday and Wednesday of each following week until the end of the month, when the run wraps with what is sure to be a special performance on the evening of Saturday, April 29.
