English rock band known as Moody Blues has recently announced plans to embark on a new tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their 1967 album, Days of Future Passed. The band will begin the tour in Rancho Mirage, California on June 3 before touring all over North America and bringing the tour to a close on July 23 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Moody Blues claim to fame started with the band playing rhythm and blues music but changed their sound for their second album, Days of Future Passed, to combine a rock and roll sound with classical music. The changed helped the band establish themselves as pioneers in the development of art rock and progressive rock. The album Days of Future Passed has been described as a ‘landmark’ and ‘one of the first successful concept albums’ by critics. The world came to love The Moody Blues with songs like “Go Now”, “Nights in White Satin”, “Tuesday Afternoon”, and “Question”.

Since their rise to fame in the late 60’s, the band has gone through a number of band members and have released 16 albums total; the last album being released in 2003. The band has been awarded 18 platinum and gold discs and have albums sales of 70 million.
