Christine McVie is Back: Fleetwood Mac Announces 2014 Tour

It’s official. Fleetwood Mac will embark on a massive North American tour in the fall of 2014, and they will be joined for the first time in nearly two decades by Christine McVie. The female guitarist joined the band in 1970 after they made the leap over the Atlantic Ocean and were becoming wildly popular in the United States.

Most fans of the band are aware that McVie left the group in the 1990s, shrinking the five person band down to a quartet. But very few know exactly why. At the time, she said it was sparked being homesick for her native England, but she recently admitted on a popular morning American program that her departure from the band had everything to do with her fear of flying. After therapy and holistic measures helped her to ease her fears, she decided to stop letting the things she fears the most prohibit her from doing the things she enjoys the most.

This is all great news for Fleetwood Mac fans anxious to get their hands on concert tickets. An initial announcement regarding the tour stated that they will perform over 30 shows in over 30 major North American metropolises. The millions of fans still playing the classic hits of the epic band on a regular basis are thrilled to know that they can now see the songs performed live by the full fleet of Mac members.

After visiting literally hundreds of cities throughout the world in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, the band faced some tough decisions as to where to stage their upcoming Fleetwood Mac concerts. The common theme of the locations seems to be stadiums with huge capacities and a very high quality sound systems.

The run of nearly three dozen shows will begin in late-September in Minneapolis’ Target Center before touching down in Chicago, New York and Boston. By mid-November, fans up in Canada will be treated to shows in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The tour will wrap up out West with stops in Portland, Sacramento, San Jose, Oakland and San Diego.
