In uncertain social and political times, leave it to the great Jack Johnson to steady the pace of the American experience with a new album and a new tour. The Hawaii-native will embark on a sizable jaunt throughout June and July, staging shows at pavilions, amphitheaters and Bowls from coast-to-coast.
Jack Johnson has become widely known for championing popular environmental causes, and he has founded charities that are directly designed to improve the Earth that we all live on. Born in Hawaii in 1975, he began to soak up the island culture at a young age. Recently, he released a single that is the centerpiece of a documentary exploring the need to rid the Pacific Ocean of its plastic as soon as possible. He is about to embark on a huge tour, and there are some serious special guests that are going to join him.
The tour begins in Chicago on June 2. On the following night, Johnson will play at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio with special guest Bahamas. They will do so the following two shows at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto on June 4 and at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion on June 7.
On June 9, June 10 and June 11, Johnson will be joined by special guest Lake Street Drive. The band created in Boston 2004 has become a stalwart of the southern rock and indie pop genres. They will be the perfect complement for the legendary folk rocker who has just entered his 40s.
Fast-forward to the resumption of the tour in July, and Jack Johnson will be joined by JAMTOWN featuring Donovan Frankenreiter and G. Love. The multi-genre representation will create huge shows that give fans a glimpse into many of the greatest things that are being created by modern, open-minded artists.
Jack Johnson will play two shows at the Santa Barbara Bowl in the great Southern California city on the evenings of July 17 and July 18. During the first performance, he will be joined by ALO. During the second, he will be joined by special guest John Craigie. Johnson’s ability to lure popular and talented performers from all walks of life is a testament to his true popularity among musicians who possess a like-minded and progressive mentality.
The tour will wrap with five more non-California shows on the West Coast. During the performance at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, Oregon on July 20, Johnson will once again be accompanied by John Craigie. Two nights later, he will perform at the famed Gorge Amphitheater in Quincy, Washington with the help of both The Avid Brothers and John Craigie. Full disclosure – this might be the biggest show on the tour.
For the final show at the state line separating California and Nevada, Johnson will be complemented by ALO. It will represent the final show on a 16-city stop tour, and it will unfold right next to the gently-rippling currents of Lake Tahoe. Tickets to any show are but a few clicks or taps away.
