Garbage Blog Tour Announced
On the wings of their successful 2015 World Tour, grunge rock legends Garbage are set to release their latest studio album, entitled Strange Little Birds. They are also in the preparatory phases to embark on a sizable 2016 North American summer jaunt.
This is great news for the throngs of Garbage fans spread throughout the nation. The group with a unique and powerful sound that registers on the categorical margins of rock ‘n roll was formed in the early 1990s. Butch Vig and Duke Erikson were kicking around creatively in the great state of Wisconsin before they fatefully found each other and begin their long, rocky path to the top of the Billboard charts.
Here are a handful of the highlights of their upcoming tour.
The fun will begin when Garbage performs a huge set at the annual Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 6. Equipped with material from a new album and their large library of recognizable hits from prior years, this high-profile performance will be the perfect professional warm-up for a tour that touches down in some of the most music-savvy cities in the nation.
After the theater portion of the tour sets sail in Minneapolis on July 7, Garbage will play the Uptown Theater in Kansas City on the evening of July 10 and the Brady Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 13.
The famed Egyptian Room in Indianapolis will host the popular quartet of rockers on July 15 before they travel a few miles north to Detroit to perform at The Fillmore on the following evening.
All great bands hope to play Knoxville and Nashville on any given tour, and that is exactly what Garbage has arranged. They will play Knoxville on Tuesday, July 19 and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Wednesday, July 20.
How can the band making their way through North America in the perfect manner follow up a two-night stint in Tennessee’s crown jewels of music? With a performance in the unofficial Capital of the South, of course. Garbage will play The Tabernacle in Atlanta on July 22.
No legitimately wonderful North American band tour is complete without shows in Boston, Philadelphia, New York and the Nation’s Capital. Garbage will visit these four cities as part of the five final stops on this tour.
Boston fans can get ready for a July 28 concert at the House Of Blues, and Garbage will finish up this highly-anticipated run with a concert at The Lincoln Theater in Washington DC.
Keep your hair on and your noses clean. There might be more dates announced…..stay tuned. We are doing our best to accommodate everyone
