Bob Seger is to rock ‘n roll as rock ‘n roll is to rock ‘n roll. Wait a minute….. that’s not the greatest comparison. Let’s try this… Bob Seger is to rock ‘n roll as Bruce Lee was to karate. The living legend is demonstrating his modern mastery of music and live touring this year, and the Detroit native recently announced a huge upcoming tour. Fans looking to attend can find a plethora of tickets at TicketProcess.com; but first, here are four reasons all fans should be excited.
The Detroit Show
After a handful of concerts in which Seger will get warmed up, he will play a huge September 9 show at the DTE Energy Music Theater in Detroit. He is one of many musicians that has come from the Motor City, an area that garnered the iconic moniker during the thriving time in which it produced the majority of American automobiles in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
In mid-January of this year, Seger took to his website to offer his latest single “Glenn Song” to all fans interested in hearing his latest creation. Fellow Detroit native and fellow amazing musician Glenn Fray passed away in 2016 after he and Seger became very close friends over the years. It is an emotional and touching song that sets the stage for an upcoming tour in which he is sure to take the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride featuring an array of his most popular chart-topping hits.
The Texas Trio
Toward the end of the tour, the man known for songs such as “Night Moves,” “Still the Same,” “Against the Wind” and many other recognizable ballads will play three shows in The Lone Star State.
The first will take place in Houston on October 19 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The second will go down two days later in Dallas at the Ford Center at The Star before the third takes place in Austin at the popular Frank Erwin Center on the evening of October 24.
Seger has remained a hard-charging, free-thinking and amazingly talented musician since he sprang onto the scene in the early 1960s. This was during a time in which America was beginning to redefine itself by way of the counterculture movement. This had a hell of a lot to do with the power of rock ‘n roll, and Seger was at the forefront of the new era.

Sadly, a large number of his contemporaries have fallen by the wayside in recent years. It is getting to the point where an amazing musician seems to pass away every week or so – a sad yet reasonable result of the fact that many of the true greats that came onto the scene in the 60s and 70s are now in their 70s and 80s. That’s one of the most amazing things about this upcoming tour – it is going to star a 72-year-old that is very much still in his prime. Bob Seger tickets are available now at TicketProcess.com.
